Greetings of the season to everyone here! Hope you all get some time off from work, good food, family, friends, and a chance to catch up on sleep.
Best wishes!

And the same to you, Riene. Ahhh, that sleep--it's a good thing.
We are having a more somber Christmas this year. My father and his sister/caregiver live an hour away in Greenville, SC. He's 78 and she's 80. She fell and had hip surgery 3 weeks ago. This left me tending to my father, losing work days, scrambling to find a sitter as he needs round the clock care. Fortunately, through the kindnesses of SO many good friends and neighbours, I was able to bring some order to all this.
My aunt is now back home with her hospital-issued walker and my sister and her family are driving down from Chicago for Christmas. With my father weighing in at a whopping 88 lbs!!!! and his poor little body slowly coming undone, this will be a season to remember, but a difficult one. He is fortunate to have the love and support of Hospice, of two lovely sitters and of his family, but he is in bad shape.
A reminder to us all that, even when we sit and watch the life of a loved one expire, even when we feel so out of control in not being able to do much, we still have an opportunity to offer up great doses of love and to learn.
May we all be blessed with good health in the coming year and with a passion to live our lives to the fullest!

May this holiday season bring peace and blessings to each of you and your families. Despina, I'll keep your dad and aunt in my prayers.

Peace and Prayers to all on the Board, and to all of their loved ones, and to those who don't have loved ones in their lives.
Life is precious, hug and kiss and touch those around us with kindness when it is easy to, but also when it isn't.
