I have been listening to "The Blessing" quite a bit for the last few days. A great song that is a phenomenal when Maura sings it live.
My father passed away this past Wednesday. He was from Maura’s neck of the woods (well, close by, Kilrush, County Clare) and a fellow Maura fan.
He really enjoyed the songs in Gaelic on “Naked With Friends.” He even translated some of the words for me.
He was sick for the past few years, but luckily he died rather peacefully and painlessly at age 80. I have to deliver the eulogy on Monday and plan on using a few verses of “The Blessing” to close.
Among many other memories, I have a few nice memories of attending Maura concerts with him. Thank you for providing me with that.
